Winter:
Mt Lyford Family Ski Field. Ski season early June to mid October.
You will need to take chains for your car. remember the chains go on the drive wheels.
Take a 6 minute drive to Mt Lyford lodge at the bottom of the hill for wine, dinner, a spar and great company.
Horse trekking, walking (4 walks described)
and just relaxing in fresh mountain air.
Take a trip to Hanmer Springs for a soak in the thermal hot pools, a jet boat ride, or for the daring
... a bungee jump. 50 minutes away. For the more adventurous there is serious powder skiing, heliskiing.
